Publication Ethics and Malpractice Statement

Mudra Jurnal Seni Budaya adapts the standards of publication ethics as stated in the Core Practices of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

Authorship and Contributorship

Authorship should be limited to those who have made a significant contribution to the conception, design, execution, or interpretation of the reported study. All those who have made significant contributions should be listed as co-authors. Where there are others who have participated in certain substantive aspects of the research project, they should be acknowledged or listed as contributors.

The corresponding author is responsible to ensure that all appropriate co-authors have been included in the paper and that all co-authors have seen and approved the final version of the paper and have agreed to its submission for publication.

Plagiarism & Originality

The journal only accepts manuscripts that have not been previously published nor are being considered for publication elsewhere. All submitted manuscripts are subjected to similarity check procedures to identify any indication of plagiarism. The editorial board is responsible for following up on any indication of plagiarism conducted by the author(s).

Complaints and Appeals

Mudra Jurnal Seni Budaya maintains a clear procedure for handling complaints against the journal, Editorial Staff, Editorial Board, or Publisher. Complaints covering editorial processes, citation manipulation, or peer-review issues are clarified directly with the respected parties and processed according to COPE guidelines.

Allegation of Research Misconduct

Research misconduct means fabrication, falsification, citation manipulation, or plagiarism in producing, performing, or reviewing research and writing an article. When authors are found to have been involved with research misconduct, Editors have a responsibility to ensure the accuracy and integrity of the scientific record.

In cases of suspected misconduct, Editors use COPE best practices. The first step involves determining the validity of the allegation and assessing relevant conflicts of interest. If scientific misconduct is possible, the allegations are shared with the corresponding author for a detailed response. Institutions are expected to conduct thorough investigations, and the journal will publish necessary corrections or retractions when required.

Ethical Oversight & Bioethics

If the research involves chemicals, human or animal subjects, procedures, or equipment with unusual hazards, the author must clearly identify these in the manuscript. Authors must provide legal ethical clearance from the relevant association or organization if required. Furthermore, confidential or proprietary business data used in research must be clearly justified regarding its secure handling.

Manuscripts are evaluated solely on intellectual merit without regard to race, gender, sexual orientation, religious belief, ethnic origin, or citizenship.

Confidentiality

Editorial staff must not disclose manuscript details to anyone other than the corresponding author, reviewers, and publisher.

Disclosure & Conflicts of Interest

Unpublished materials disclosed in a submitted manuscript must not be used in an editor's own research without express written consent.

Peer review assists editors in making decisions and helps authors improve their papers through editorial communications.

Promptness & Objectivity

Referees who feel unqualified or unable to provide a prompt review should notify the editor. Reviews must be conducted objectively without personal criticism.

Confidentiality

Manuscripts received for review must be treated as confidential documents and not used for personal advantage.

Reviewers must identify relevant un-cited work and report any substantial similarity or overlap with other published papers.

Originality & Concurrent Publication

Authors must ensure entirely original work. Submitting the same manuscript to more than one journal concurrently is unethical and unacceptable.

Proper acknowledgment of the work of others must always be given through appropriate citations.
