Archiving & Digital Preservation Policy

Ensuring long-term accessibility, digital integrity, and perpetual preservation of published research.

Mudra: Jurnal Seni Budaya is deeply committed to ensuring the long-term accessibility and preservation of its digital content. We utilize cutting-edge archiving systems to protect published manuscripts from data loss and guarantee their perpetual availability for future researchers.

DISTRIBUTED ARCHIVE

LOCKSS System

Utilizes the LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe) system to create a distributed archive among participating libraries.

• Purpose:

Keeps content secure and accessible in case of publisher server failure or technical issues.

• Mechanism:

Libraries store local copies and collaboratively audit content integrity to prevent deletion or corruption.

DARK ARCHIVE

CLOCKSS System

Participates in the CLOCKSS (Controlled Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe) fail-safe archiving initiative.

• Purpose:

Acts as a fail-safe trigger in the event of permanent journal publication failure.

• Mechanism:

Permanently stored on secure servers; activated for open public access under Creative Commons if a trigger event occurs.

Guarantee of Continued Access

Through the combined archiving strategies of LOCKSS and CLOCKSS, Mudra: Jurnal Seni Budaya guarantees:

1. Continuous Availability: Uninterrupted access to published scientific content is maintained globally.
2. Digital Protection: Robust safeguards against data corruption, hardware loss, or technical failure.
3. Scholarly Preservation: Perpetual preservation of the scholarly legacy of every article for future generations.
