Correction, Retraction and Withdrawal Policy

Correction, Retraction, and Withdrawal Policy

Mudra Jurnal Seni Budaya believes in protecting and maintaining the integrity of the academic record. Articles officially published in this journal are considered as the “Version of Record”.

General Principles & Article Corrections

Very rarely, when the scientific information in an article is substantially undermined, it becomes necessary for Mudra to publish corrections to, or retractions of, published articles at the discretion of the editors.

Article Corrections Procedure:

Authors are encouraged to report errors regarding the accuracy of published information. Only errors that impact the article significantly will be considered. Corrections are made at the journal’s discretion and will be published under Corrections and Addendum in a subsequent issue.

Article Retractions

Applied in cases of severe scientific misconduct (e.g., multiple submissions, bogus authorship, plagiarism, or fraudulent data).

  • Requirements: Requires a signed statement from all concerned authors before publication of retraction.
  • Public Notice: A notice stating reasons and retracting parties will be published, listed in the table of contents, and linked to the original article.
  • Record Preservation: The original article will remain online/printed but clearly marked as a Retracted Article.

Article Withdrawal

Articles can be withdrawn either by the authors (before publication) or by the publisher due to ethical violations.

  • Author Requests: Permitted only for compelling reasons via a formal letter signed by all co-authors. Must wait for official confirmation.
  • Publisher Action: The publisher reserves full rights to withdraw any manuscript violating ethical guidelines (duplicate publication, data fraud, etc.).

Appeals and Complaints

Appeals Procedure:

Editorial decisions are generally final. Reconsideration is considered only if an author demonstrates that a manuscript was rejected due to a clear mistake or misunderstanding.

*Differences of opinion regarding manuscript novelty, interest, or suitability do not qualify as grounds for appeal.

Making a Complaint:

Complaints regarding journal processes should be addressed to the Editor-in-Chief.
