Conflict of Interest Policy

Mudra: Jurnal Seni Budaya is committed to ensuring objectivity, fairness, and transparency throughout the scholarly publication process. This conflict of interest policy is established in accordance with the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) standards to prevent potential biases that could influence academic assessment, research integrity, or editorial decisions.

Scope of Conflicts of Interest

A conflict of interest may arise when personal, financial, academic, or professional relationships compromise an individual's objective judgment. Conflicts of interest include, but are not limited to:

  • Financial Conflicts: Stock ownership, honoraria, research funding from commercial entities, patent ownership, or employment relationships with organizations directly invested in the publication outcomes.
  • Non-Financial Conflicts: Personal or familial relationships, academic rivalry, institutional affiliations, and ideological or political beliefs that directly influence data interpretation or review decisions.

Author Responsibilities

  • Formal Declaration: Authors are required to submit a Statement of Competing Interests upon manuscript submission. If no conflict exists, authors must state in writing: "The author(s) declare(s) no conflict of interest."
  • Disclosure of Funding: Authors must disclose all research funding sources and the role of sponsors in study design, data collection, analysis, and the decision to publish within the Acknowledgments section.

Peer Reviewer Responsibilities

  • Recusal: Reviewers must decline review invitations if they have collaborative relationships, joint publication histories within the past 3 years, direct competition, or personal/financial conflicts with any of the authors.
  • Confidentiality and Objectivity: Reviewers must not utilize information or data contained in the reviewed manuscript for personal or group gain prior to official publication.

Editorial Board and Editor Responsibilities

  • Editorial Independence: Editors and the Editor-in-Chief recuse themselves from decision
