Lekesan: Interdisciplinary Journal of Asia Pacific Arts is conceived as a scholarly journal grounded in the lexical and cultural meaning of the Balinese term lekesan, which refers to rolled betel quid prepared as a unified composition with ritual, symbolic, and social functions. Within Balinese tradition, lekesan is not understood as a singular element, but as an integrated assemblage that brings together diverse components into a coherent, meaningful, and efficacious whole.
